ALiM

 This year, AliM was offered to selected students in three classes. In my room, there were 6 students who spent 10 weeks on multiplicative thinking and we focused mainly on the Learning Progressions signposts. Gillian May received the training for ALiM this year and we were guided by Tom and Michelle who were our mentors for this.

Teacher Only Days

 These two days were 11 May and 16 August. On these days we looked at Local Curriculum and Deep Learning. We were able to plan two units; one on Matariki, and the other on the discovery of gold at Gabriel's Gully. These were very beneficial and the plans were quite comprehensive.

Reports to the Board of Trustees

 In May and July, I prepared and reported the annual English and Mathematics reports to the Board of Trustees. This involves collating information from the junior school and reporting on how the junior school has responded to the information, as well as giving a snapshot on current student progress. This year teachers have not been required to be present at the meeting as the document has been shared well in advance. Board members can question anything that has been written and I was able to respond to any queries this way.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

 These were held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Most parents attended these which was very pleasing. It was also great to see some of the students attended these as well.
